This is the Hari Raya holidays assignment for Communication & Visualization class entitled your favourite movie. My favourite movie is a Dreamwork production which is the Madagascar series! I have chosen Madagascar 2 : Escape to Africa. First I have introduce the 'main characters' appear in the movie on the left hand side, then I started the rapid sketch of the storyline on the right hand side. In Madagascar 2 has explained how Alex get into the zoo but not living in the wild. 'Alex' which the original name was 'Alekir', the hero lion in this movie was captured by hunter when he was young and was separated from his parents. Alex accidentally fell into the ocean in a box and was rescue by new york people and the storyline went back to where Alex and his friends is going to fly off Madagascar........
This is my most 'adorable' rapid sketch assignment out if the seven sketches! Haha! Well, comment from Ms Norji was Good Job!

Today we are being requested to compose a presentation board for a futuristic building using photoshop. My idea was to create a board for futuristic gallery with the concept 'twining in crawling'. Well, although our lecturer, Ms Norji has cooperated with our media lecturer, Mr Kamal to teach us in photoshop skill, we were having Q & A session in the class to learn photoshop skill. After the in class exercise experience, I think the problem i faced is in the presentation board composition more than photoshop editing skill. :( The only way to achieve better presentation board composition for me is actually to explore more wild presentation skill.

On last friday before this assignment, our class had a site visit to the Zoo Negara. Basically we had done the study on the Zoo Negara 'Site' as it will be further used by design Project 02. Comments from Ms Norji is that i have done nice sketches but perhaps the number of each visual can be highlighted in a proper font.

Today, Communication & Visualization class has introduce us the 7 ELEMENTS in ways of visualizing the ideas. So i tried to explain my understanding of the seven elements using a simple storyline of a office man daily life. As in the quick sketch i used different kind of arrow to indicate different elements (the arrow used to show the flow is bigger than smaller arrow t show the flow in the process part & the smallest to label the 'visualize elements'with some simple texts. I had make the effect thumbnail as the hierarchy in order to show the effect that i want to deliver as it was seen (happy, excited, impact, positive colour).

Our history has deliver the first lecture which entitled Colonial Architecture few days before the Communication & Visualisation class. I have mainly visualize the influences of the two main empire involved in this topic which is the Dutch & the Portugal on the Architecture in Asia & what is the main design elements applied. In this assignment i have forgot to put in a hierachy to highlight the issues & perhaps i can add more detail characters of a building, not just one side drawing of the building. :)

Wantan mee is my favourite food! It is one of the chinese traditional food. First, you need o prepare the ingredient needed, then i make it into right & bottom which introduce the way to prepare watan & handmade noodles respectively. At the end, i draw the wantan noodles as the biggest thumbnail to show that it was the focus point in this rapid sketch. Comment from our lecturer : Nice sketches but the number of words can be more simplify (one word likes 'cut' 'season' is enough instead of cutting the meat, seasoning the meat :D)

Well actually there is a misunderstanding in this first assignment... Ms Norji intention is to ask us to introduce our animal in design project but I had draw the quick sketch to brief on general information of design project. D: (but at least i did visualize something!:D) Comment received from our lecturer is the sketches is good but reader cannot catch the most important point (or so call the hierachy) in the sketch :) Overall composition no problem perhaps I can try to research or explore on more ways in organizing the flow of the quick sketch.

Trying to finish this skill test with quick comic like drawing! Ms Norji (our lecturer for communication & visualization xD)  has gave some comments on our quick sketches, & with examples, she taught us what is meant by quick sketch--to introduce 'something' with some simple understanding images/ thumbnails & minimum text. Well, i did achieve these two criterias, but maybe i can separate my information into different small thumbnails!:D She will taught us into further details of what is quick sketch in our next lecture. Looking forward to next class!

My most satisfied part in this rendering drawing is the brick & concrete tiles. Ermm trying to create a shining effect for the floor tiles, but i think its not successful :(( Well, should practice more on colour marker rendering so i can finish a drawing faster & nicer!:D
